about yggmap Esc to close

yggmap is a small love letter to thinking on paper — one page that opens ready, so nothing stands between you and the idea.

private by construction: your maps live in this browser and nowhere else. there is no server to trust — even share links carry the whole map inside the url.

keyboard-first: Tab grows a child, Enter a sibling — the map keeps up with your thinking. the ghost hints teach you, then quietly fade out of the way.

hand-drawn on purpose: tidy diagrams invite tidy thoughts too early. wobbly lines leave room for the half-formed ones.

the name is a nod to yggdrasil, the world tree — every map a small world growing from a single idea.

what’s new Esc to close

july 15, 2026

  • open yggmap in as many tabs as you like — they now sync live: edits in one tab appear in the others, and no tab can overwrite what another one saved
  • share a map with a link — the whole map travels inside the url, so it never touches a server; tap 🔗 next to a map in ☰ my maps
  • arrow keys now follow the branches — left/right walk in and out, up/down step between siblings
  • the ? panel now ends with a little about page — the why behind yggmap
  • this “what’s new” dialog — new features get announced right here

july 14, 2026

  • yggmap goes live at yggmap.com 🌱
  • keyboard-first mapping: Tab for a child, Enter for a sibling
  • your maps stay in this browser — no account, no server, no tracking
  • multiple maps, with export & import as JSON
  • works on phones — tap the ghost buttons to grow the map
